Immigration
Jessica specialises in immigration/asylum and human rights, with particular expertise in refugee and human rights cases, and immigration bail. She frequently appears in appeals against decisions of the Secretary of State for the Home Department before the First-Tier Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chambers.
Jessica has extensive experience working with vulnerable clients, including victims of abuse, trafficking and torture.
Jessica is frequently instructed to draft grounds for Judicial Review, and administrative review challenges, against decisions of the Secretary of State.
Prior to joining Chambers, Jessica worked for an international refugee charity in London, where she prepared and presented cases for appeal rights exhausted people seeking asylum. Jessica was accredited as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker with the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme (IAAS), and also at Level 3 in Asylum and Protection, and Immigration, with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).
Jessica developed her expertise by undertaking various voluntary positions including: working closely with communities at risk of human rights abuses in Ghana; volunteering as a Refugee Services Caseworker within the British Red Cross; and becoming Trustee of grassroots charity AFRIL (Action for Refugees in Lewisham).
Civil
Prior to developing her immigration practice, Jessica gained experience in civil law. She appeared in the County Courts on matters including landlord & tenant, interim applications and small claim trials. Jessica later worked in-house developing a civil litigation practice.

Interests
Outside work, Jessica enjoys yoga, running, reading and spending time with her family. She is also learning to sail, having completed the Royal Yachting Association Level 1 qualification.
