The latest case was that of The King on the application of Tomlinson v Secretary of State for the Home Department in the Court of Appeal where two of 12 Old Square‘s leading and in-demand barristers, Darryl Balroop and Michael Biggs appeared for the Appellant and Respondent, respectively.
This case concerned an appeal to the Court of Appeal against a decision to refuse the Appellant’s application for judicial review in the Upper Tribunal (Immigration & Asylum Chamber) in respect of a decision of the Respondent to refuse an application for entry clearance to the United Kingdom.
The Appellant had successfully revoked a deportation order made against him yet had been refused by the Respondent of the entry clearance necessary for him to return to the United Kingdom.
There can only be one winning argument and on this occasion, Mr Balroop was successful and you can read how he achieved this in the Court of Appeal’s judgement here https://www.bailii.org/ew/ cases/EWCA/Civ/2025/253.pdf
