Practice areas
Jam has a broad common law practice accepting instructions across civil, family law, housing, property, landlord and tenant, crime, and human rights and immigration law.
Prior to joining the Bar, Jam acquired several years of experience working as a paralegal, a specialist appeal case reviewer for the Home Office, and a legislative editor for the National Archives.
Jam qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and practised as an independent advocate. During this time, Jam gained experience in dealing with civil litigation claims, family cases, landlord and tenant disputes and human rights cases.
Civil
Jam accepts instructions in a range of civil work including contractual claims, credit hire, debt recovery, consumer credit agreements, landlord and tenants, property disputes and personal injury cases. Jam has advised and represented clients in claims involving property disputes, undue influence claims, trust matters, tortious liability and personal injury cases.
Jam has a wealth of advocacy experience in all types of interlocutory applications and fast track and multi-track trials in County Courts and the High Court.

Jam has experience in dealing with matters ranging from possession to homelessness, unlawful evictions, contested possession claims (both private and social housing), appealsagainst homelessness decisions in the County Courts and claims under TLATA 1996.

Family Law– Children Private
Jam has extensive experience in private children’s law proceedings dealing with complex allegations of domestic abuse, sexual abuse allegations, coercive and controlling behaviour, and parental alienation, including in cases where the child is represented. Jam conducted multiday fact findings, multiday contested children’s proceedings, contested multiday non-molestation hearings, contested occupation order hearings and ancillary children’s law hearings.
Family Law – Financial Remedies
Jam has extensive experience in financial remedies matters. Jam has represented clients in all stages of proceedings including FDA, FDR and final hearings, including multiday final hearings. Jam has experience in trust cases, third-partyproperty ownership, company assets and international assets, and accepts instructions in all aspects of financial proceedings including matrimonial finance, enforcement, and variations.
Civil liberties and human rights
Jam is instructed in all areas of human rights, civil liberties, asylum and immigration law. Jam is regularly instructed to draft pleadings for Judicial Reviews, Grounds of appeal and permission to appeal grounds in a wide range of immigration and asylum matters.
Crime
Jam accepts instructions for both the defence and prosecution in criminal cases.
